Hi! My name is Meagan, some call me MJ!

  • In 2008 I graduated with my BFA in photography from Savannah College of Art & Design, concentrating primarily on documentary photography.
  • I've been photographing weddings for over 10 years. After graduating college, I started out as an assistant to another wedding photographer (I was like the 3rd assistant) and moved up the line as associate photographer to the main photographer. I still appreciate that time so much since I learned a great deal from this mentor. I've also been a mentor to others along the way and it is such a rewarding experience. I'm a big fan of continuing education and feel that no one is ever done learning.
  • My husband, Matt, is also a photographer! We photograph weddings together most of the time. There was this AMAZING opportunity to photograph a wedding in Italy 6 years ago and I just threw him into and said "follow the light and trust your instincts"- I don't even know what that means tbh, but he figured it out and got some great stuff!

I truly love what I do! Photographing these moments that you care about is what I care about. Being a storyteller with the camera will never get old to me. When I'm photographing a wedding: I always cry when there is a father-daughter dance, I'm a photo ninja during the ceremony (not just because I tend to wear all black), and I bring a wedding day emergency kit (you name it, and it might be in this bag... scissors, a wooden hanger, sticky dress tape, wisps (those tiny on the go minty toothbrushes- they help me too!).
